History of Lifegate Baptist Church

Lifegate Baptist Church began services in 1974. Pastor James Ray began holding bible studies in a local community centre then transferred to our current location. A group of believers met together faithfully constituting as a New Testament church in 1976. Lifegate Baptist Church has been faithfully ministering the word of God. The Lord has blessed the ministries of Lifegate Baptist Church and we look forward to see what the Lord will do in the future.

Why the Need for an Independent Baptist Church?

There is a great need for fundamental independent Baptist churches in the United Kingdom. Independent Baptist's hold to a biblical view of the church in which they remain free from any denominational rule. This simply means that we hold to a scriptural view concerning the rule of the local church. Jesus Christ is the head of every true New Testament local church and he governs his church with the bible.
